ASSINIBOIA POLICE DEPARTMENT (1881-1969)AMALGAMATED WITH WINNIPEG POLICE SERVICE
In 1969, the Assiniboia Police Department (16 members) was absorbed by the St. James Police in preparation for the amalgamation of all forces into the City of Winnipeg Police .  The reformed St. James-Assiniboia Police Department had 82 members when it amalgamated with the Winnipeg Police on October 21, 1974.

BROOKLANDS POLICE DEPARTMENT AMALGAMATED WITH WINNIPEG POLICE SERVICE
In 1967, the Village of Brooklands Police Department (5 members) was absorbed by the St. James Police in preparation for the amalgamation of all forces into the City of Winnipeg Police in 1974.

EAST KILDONAN CITY POLICE SERVICE   (1914 -1974)  AMALGAMATED WITH WINNIPEG POLICE SERVICE
The Rural Municipality of East Kildonan was formed in 1914 and at the time included the area of Old Kildonan. The two municipalities divided in 1925 and maintained separate Police forces. In 1972, the the East Kildonan Police (39 members) absorbed the North Kildonan Police (18 members) in preparation for the complete amalgamation of all forces into the City of Winnipeg Police in 1974.

FORT GARRY POLICE DEPARTMENT (1913-1974) AMALGAMATED WITH WINNIPEG POLICE SERVICE ON OCTOBER 1974
The Rural Municipality of Fort Garry was incorporated in 1912 and had a one-man department until 1947 when both the area and Police force began to grow. The Fort Garry Police Department had 37 members when it amalgamated with the Winnipeg Police on October 21, 1974.

NORTH KILDONAN  POLICE DEPARTMENT (1925-1971) AMALGAMATED WITH WINNIPEG POLICE SERVICE ON OCTOBER 1974
In 1972, the North Kildonan Police Department (18 members) was absorbed by the East Kildonan Police Department (39 members) in preparation for the complete amalgamation of all forces 1974. The two forces worked together out of the East Kildonan Police station at 545 Watt Street.

The Rural Municipality of Old Kildonan was originally part of the Rural Municipality of East Kildonan (formed in 1914). The two municipalities divided in 1925 and maintained separate Police forces. In 1972, the Old Kildonan-West St. Paul Police Department (7 members) was absorbed by the West Kildonan Police Department (22 members) in preparation for the complete amalgamation of all forces in 1974.

SAINT BONIFACE POLICE DEPARTMENT (1881-1074) AMALGAMATED WITH WINNIPEG POLICE SERVICE ON OCTOBER 1974
St. Boniface was established as a mainly French speaking village on the east side of the Red River in the early fur trading days. It became a municipality in 1880 and appointed it’s first Policeman in 1881. The St. Boniface Police Department had 51 members when it amalgamated with the Winnipeg Police on October 21, 1974.

The area on the east side of the Red River, south of the French settlement of St. Boniface became the Rural Municipality of St. Vital in 1880 with the first Police Officer being appointed in 1913. The area continued to grow and became a City in 1962. The St. Vital Police Department had 35 members when it amalgamated with the Winnipeg Police on October 21, 1974.

Transcona was incorporated in 1912 at which time a Police force was established. The Transcona Police Department had 29 members when it amalgamated with the Winnipeg Police on October 21, 1974.

The town of Tuxedo was incorporated in 1913, and originally patrolled by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police until establishing their own Police force in 1957. The Tuxedo Police Department had 5 members when it amalgamated with the Winnipeg Police on October 21, 1972, in preparation for the amalgamation of all forces in 1974.

The Rural Municipality of West Kildonan was incorporated in 1915 at which time a Police force was established. It remained a one-man department for many years, but expanded in the early 1950’s as the area developed. In 1972, The West Kildonan Police Department (22 members) absorbed the Old Kildonan-West St. Paul Police Department (7 members) in preparation for the complete amalgamation of all forces in 1974. The West Kildonan Police Department had 29 members when it amalgamated with the Winnipeg Police on October 21, 1974.
